I'm a 30-something programmer dude from Hungary. Recently I've started a writing a blog mostly about game development.
I'm a big fan of Construct 3. I like how intuitive it is, how quickly you can make progress and try out simple and not so simple ideas. I even like it's limitations.
I like spinning up new projects frequently to try out new ideas. If something sticks, it will probably end up here. The graphics and sounds are often created by my good friend Tibor. Together we're Lasermagnet Games.
We started working on Copterfields (a tower defense game with a heavy inspiration from Unrailed) for Toy Box Jam 3, which also received a couple post-jam updates.
We entered a sorta-3D action slasher prototype called Axe of Extinction for the Adaptive Music Jam 2021. We almost continuously worked for a week on this project but it was still entered at the very last minute and a lot of planned stuff never made it into the game... it was another great lesson in time management and scoping :).
I hastily built a faux-3D physics action game for the Azure Lux Jam, taking the theme (chain reaction) literally.
Later that month and with some help from Tibor, I entered the ScoreSpace Jam #15 with the western themed 3D action game The Bad, The Bullet and The Bottles. It was the first time I've used the brand new 3D Camera plugin in Construct 3.
We entered the Kenney Jam 2021 with a 2D puzzle platformer prototype called Groundflipper which received a few post-jam updates too; you can find the latest version here.
We started working on a game temporarily called Level Editor Mayhem, which is a 2D couch multiplayer platformer mostly inspired by Ultimate Chicken Horse and Super Crate Box. Graphics and audio are created by Tibor. This was our first "official", non-game jam project as Lasermagnet Games.
My first public game prototype was called Gravity Unlocked, I've made it for My First Game Jam: Winter 2021. It was a great experience since I finally made something I wasn't embarrassed to upload publicly.
